Another artist rumoured to be performing the infamous Bond song is 18 year old Lorde. Out of nowhere she stormed the charts around the world with her number one single 'Royals' (listen to that below).
From that point on her life became on huge success story, winning the Brit award in 2014 for 'International Female Solo Artist' (Lorde was born in New Zealand) beating off the likes of Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and P!nk to win the award, previously won by the likes of Rihanna, Lana Del Rey, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Bjork.
Her song 'Royals' taken from her first studio album 'Pure Heroine' also won numerous award around the world including the 2014 Grammy Award for 'Song Of The Year', the Billboard Music Award for 'Top Rock Song', the New Zealand Music Awards award for 'Single Of The Year' (2013) and 'Highest Selling New Zealand Single' (2014) and many more. Her hit song 'Royals' is a soft laid back track with her powerful voice excelling throughout, with a slow beat throughout.
However is this what a Bond song should be? The James Bond franchise is known as being fast paced and elaborate with the songs following these themes - a perfect example would be 1973's Live And Let Die performed by Sir Paul McCartney - an area that Lorde hasn't really entered yet (one of her more upbeat songs however is 'Yellow Flicker Beat', listen to that below), so would a Bond song really suit her at this stage in her career?
Another issue with Lorde performing the James Bond song is that she is currently attached to another film franchise - The Hunger Games - having curated and contributed to the soundtrack for The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1, one of the most popular songs from that being 'Yellow Flicker Beat' performed by Lorde; but in a recent interview she said she had no plans to work on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2; but it all depends on contracts and whether or not she'd be allowed to work on the soundtrack to another film, for so many years.
Below is her song 'Yellow Flicker Beat' for the film The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 1, and below that is her number one song 'Royals':
What do you think at the prospect of Lorde performing the SPECTRE theme song? Who else do you think would be right in their element performing the song? Let us know in the comments section below.

SPECTRE Theme - In The Running... Ed Sheeran
2014/15 has really been Ed Sheeran's year, it all started with the release of his latest album 'X' in June '14 which has now sold over 2 million copies in the UK alone, meaning it has gone 7x Platinum. Then while his album was still charting around the world, he began his worldwide tour; which consisted of playing to a sold out Wemby Stadium (300,000 capacity) on three consecutive nights, by playing at Wembly he became the first act to ever headline Wembly Stadium without any backing band, or singers. So if there was a better way to finish off his two years of success (before working on an inevitable third album), it would be to perform the theme song for SPECTRE.
Ed Sheeran has proved with songs such as 'Photograph' (below), 'Thinking Out Loud', 'The A Team', 'Lego House', 'I See Fire' (below) and 'Drunk' to name but a few that he can make slow, powerful songs. Both of which define a Bond song, making him a perfect contender for the SPECTRE theme song. We already have proof that Ed Sheeran can make a perfect film theme song, having previously recorded 'I See Fire' for the second film in The Hobbit Trilogy - The Desolation Of Smaug.
However The Hobbit/ Lord Of The Rings trilogy have more laid back theme songs as apposed to Bond's big, elaborate songs; meaning that maybe Sheeran isn't meant to sing a Bond song. This has been further supported by Sheeran himself when he said in an interview:
Below is 'I See Fire' the theme tune performed by Sheeran for The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, and below that is his recent single 'Photogrpah' showing off his slow, powerful voice:

'I am a James Bond fan, but I think the James Bond theme tune should be ballsy and I feel like if I was going to do it, it would sound a bit wet ... I'd love to do a James Bond song but can you imagine it? I wasn't born with the James Bond voice. I'm not ruling it out. Maybe in 10 years time when my balls drop it would improve.'

SPECTRE Theme - In The Running... Adele
If anymore evidence was needed that her powerful voice would make another great Bond song then see her 16x Platinum album 21; in which she shines as a performer and her powerful voice is faultless throughout.
However some argue that it is too soon for Adele to do another Bond song considering she performed the song for Skyfall which was the last Bond outing, and so some say that for that reason we should have a fresh face to perform the theme song for SPECTRE.
Below is the award winning Skyfall theme song, Skyfall:
